On an unrelated note, does anyone have any book recommendations? Nonfiction, preferably, I recently reread Silent Spring, and I suppose you might say I've been in the mood to continue in that vein for a while. [He spends a lot of time reading anyway, but some specific suggestions instead of just wandering into the library and pulling a book off the shelf would be cool.]

Alan Weisman's The World Without Us. It's a speculative text about the environmental consequences of humanity's disappearance from Earth.

An interesting treatise, based on research into human settlements abandoned decades or centuries ago and reclaimed by nature in years since. Not that the ability of the Green to outlive humanity was news to me.

Both, to be honest. I'll admit my field of research tends to lean a bit more heavily on biology, but I've always found chemistry interesting.

A biologist. You could just go into the CES and see if it throws up something interesting. Otherwise, there are some new plants in the garden from the last port that we visited, courtesy of Kay.
