On an unrelated note, does anyone have any book recommendations? Nonfiction, preferably, I recently reread Silent Spring, and I suppose you might say I've been in the mood to continue in that vein for a while. [He spends a lot of time reading anyway, but some specific suggestions instead of just wandering into the library and pulling a book off the shelf would be cool.]

Were you interested in the chemistry side of the book or the environmentalism?

Both, to be honest. I'll admit my field of research tends to lean a bit more heavily on biology, but I've always found chemistry interesting.

A biologist. You could just go into the CES and see if it throws up something interesting. Otherwise, there are some new plants in the garden from the last port that we visited, courtesy of Kay.

Chemistry is my area of expertise, but I have more than a passing interest in botany.

I was a psychiatrist.

Psychopharmacology, to be precise. It can't be said that my choice of field isn't rather specific.

Arguably. I enjoy the field, but I probably won't be working in it in the future.
