On an unrelated note, does anyone have any book recommendations? Nonfiction, preferably, I recently reread Silent Spring, and I suppose you might say I've been in the mood to continue in that vein for a while. [He spends a lot of time reading anyway, but some specific suggestions instead of just wandering into the library and pulling a book off the shelf would be cool.]

I meant in the sense that her complete absence is not a novelty.

Begged for her attention like a child, you mean? No. I imagine she's aware we don't talk. The few times we have spoken it's to engage in circular arguments that only serve to highlight how little she understands my position.

It's not company I'm troubled by losing. I only mention it to explain why I don't know her stance on 'supervised projects'.

That isn't what I said. But I would assume there's no harm in asking, once she's up and about again.

I would sooner tolerate unsatisfied curiosity than place myself in her debt.

Why would that put you in her debt? Not every warden demands or expects something tangible when an inmate asks for favors.

It's still debt regardless of whether I'm called upon to repay it.
