Would you mind coming up to the CES with me? [Someone wants to talk about the whole Morgana murdering a certain person thing. :V]

[And a short while later, Charles is knocking on your door, Arthur.]

[Arthur has a pretty good idea what Charles is calling on him for given what's happened lately. So he braces himself for the questions about his feelings and goes to open the door for him.]

"Hello Charles."

[God forbid your friends want to make sure you're doing alright, Arthur.]

"Hello. I suppose there's no use beating around the bush, so, how are you doing?"

[Talking about feelings is extremely uncomfortable for him. You don't get feelings as king, you get a crown and people to protect.]

"I'm fine."

[Yeah, he wasn't buying it, and yeah, he was a massive hypocrite because he didn't like talking about feelings either, but. He's a hypocrite.]

"Has Morgana tried to contact you?"

"We don't really sit around and chat, Charles."

"That wasn't what I was anticipating happening." [Come on, Arthur.] "But I suppose that's good news. Merlin sounds like he's doing well."

"For a suicidal moron, maybe."

"I think that's taking it a bit far."

[Arthur gave him a sharp look for that.] "When he let her murder him? I'm being kind."

"I'm not saying I think it was the best thought out plan he's ever had, and frankly, the fact he was willing to do it at all is fairly concerning, but he said he wasn't planning on a repeat performance."

"You think Morgana cares about what he plans on in the future?"

"I think at the very least, if she wants to keep her magic and her other privileges, she'll realize how idiotic targeting either of you would be. Not to mention the fact that killing anyone here changes nothing."

Arthur scoffed. "Morgana is our father's daughter. And Merlin has taught her that he's an easy target."

"He said he wasn't just going to let her kill him again."

"She won't stop. I know her, Charles. And one time isn't going to be enough for her. She'll just try harder and her stupid Warden thinks letting her have her magic is a good idea."

[Charles frowned.] "Taking away her magic isn't the solution to this, Arthur."

"No. It's a punishment."

"If Tony stabbed someone, should I take away his arms because he might use them to hurt someone?"

"I would hope that you took away the weapon he used to do it." [And whatever you said, Morgana's magic was a weapon. Always had been. She didn't know how to use it differently.]

"Her magic isn't a weapon, it's a part of her." [And he fought to keep his voice level, because he didn't want to argue about this.] "Taking it away from her just proves to her that it is a weapon, and it's something other people fear and won't understand. You'll be justifying her belief that you're too much like your father."

"She hasn't treated it as anything but a weapon herself! Name one time she has used it for anything but evil."

"It's because she doesn't know any other way. That's something she needs to learn here."

"She needs to be punished, Charles. A few days in the cells isn't worth Merlin's life." [He was worth so much more than that.]
