"I would hope that you took away the weapon he used to do it." [And whatever you said, Morgana's magic was a weapon. Always had been. She didn't know how to use it differently.]

[And he fought to keep his voice level, because he didn't want to argue about this.] "Taking it away from her just proves to her that it is a weapon, and it's something other people fear and won't understand. You'll be justifying her belief that you're too much like your father."

"I'm not saying she doesn't need to be punished. I'm upset about this, too, Arthur." [Although really, he doesn't really get the satisfaction of revenge. If anything ever happened to Erik, he couldn't say he'd take much solace in the other person being hurt or otherwise wronged in return.] "But taking away her magic is just going to make matters worse."

[Arthur made a noise that was close to disgusted with him and turned to walk away a few paces, over to the window. It was nothing but black and tiny stars out there, and he wished he was home more than anything right now. That he could grab Merlin by his big ears and drag him back there and everything would be okay. Guinevere would be there, and his men and things would make sense.]

"She abused a privilege and now she should have to earn it back." [He turned back slightly to face the other man.] "But that decision isn't in either of our hands. I'm not going to speak to Mozenrath about this, and you shouldn't either. She's his problem and I am so tired of going in circles with you about her. So I'm asking you to drop it. Please."

[Charles didn't try to follow him and took a moment before he said anything, because he was tired of it, too. Tired of going in circles with everyone, really, between Arthur and Morgana and Erik, and really, it was hard, being friendly with someone who basically didn't get something very vital to who you were, and for a moment, he really resented Arthur and the Barge and Erik and Moira for bringing him into all this in the first place. He'd never wanted to be on the frontlines of this conflict, he'd just wanted to teach.]

"It isn't a privilege." [He said finally, voice quiet and not bothering to hide his disappointment.] "And as long as you don't understand that, you're not going to have peace in Camelot."

[And he is just. Going to turn to leave because clearly this conversation is over.]

[Arthur didn't try to stop him. He needed time to think, to process everything that happened, and make his peace with the fact that this wasn't Camelot, and he wasn't king, and Morgana was not his problem. And he needed to just, ignore her presence entirely for a while until he could be fair in his judgment because he knew he wasn't being fair right now. She was too close and she'd hurt someone even closer.]
