THIRTEEN ✖ VOICE
[Hi Barge. Charles sounds kind of irked when he turns on the feed, which for affected people should not really be all that unfamiliar or surprising. Flood!Charles is kind of an angry, quiet but soapboxy and very anti-human guy.]
In light of recent events, I've been doing a bit of thinking about some of the worlds I've learned about here, and about how people respond when I tell them about my mutation. [Except as far as he's concerned, he does this soapboxing a lot since coming here so. This is really not out of the ordinary. Sort of.] Why should we have to hide what we're capable of for the comfort and convenience of others? Why should we be denied full use of our abilities here, by wardens or by the Admiral when he strands us in port?
We shouldn't have to be afraid of what we're capable of just because it makes other people uncomfortable, and none of us should be denied what's rightfully ours just because we're not human. [Which is coming out a little bit like a curse word. :V]
Frankly, it makes me uncomfortable to know I'm stuck here with a bunch of humans who will never be able to understand what it's like to be one of us, and instead of bothering to try, have just decided we're all a threat to their safety. All that proves to me is that you're all the same, and you wouldn't hesitate to wipe us out, and I, for one, am not willing to give you that chance.
Merlin, Morgana, you should stand up for yourselves. All of you should be willing to fight for what's rightfully ours, instead of blindly following along and hoping these Homo sapiens will realize the error of their ways.
[ooc: Charles is totally affected, and since his most defining trait is the whole KILLING WILL NOT BRING YOU PEACE thing he is now PEACE WAS NEVER AN OPTION. Meaning he is basically Erik this weekendand I'm not sure why he's a warden still >>; and will be apologizing like crazy when all this is over. :C]

Hearing you talk about the trials of living among humans is a bit rich. Once an ape, always an ape. And the people you address--Merlin, Morgana--more humans. Did you even once stop to think how the real nonhumans feel around here? While you worry about your powers being taken away, I have my entire biology rearranged, my organs ripped out. While you fret about being a misunderstood outcast, not once not once has the Admiral even so much as acknowledged my planets' existence. How many Gallifrey ports have their been compared to Earth ports? How many Gallifreyan holidays celebrated? Everything from the calendar to the standard language is Terran. Your native culture.
So cry me a river, human.

If you're that upset about the Admiral's policies, try doing something about it instead of turning your frustrations on me. Celebrate a Gallifreyan holiday, educate us about your culture. Or go home.

And why single those two out in your anti-human screed? There have been actual nonhumans who have faced discrimination recently, too.
What I see is the same millennia-old story of humans oppressing humans, and you trying to dress it up as something it isn't while ignoring or dismissing those who are truly nonhuman.

Would you like me to add in something about the vampire and werewolf issue? I thought Angua had covered it quite nicely. If you were in the mood to tell me a bit more about the issues Gallifreyans face, I'd be happy to try doing something about that, too.
