wedonot: (How's that for a magic trick?)

THIRTEEN ✖ VOICE

[Hi Barge. Charles sounds kind of irked when he turns on the feed, which for affected people should not really be all that unfamiliar or surprising. Flood!Charles is kind of an angry, quiet but soapboxy and very anti-human guy.]

In light of recent events, I've been doing a bit of thinking about some of the worlds I've learned about here, and about how people respond when I tell them about my mutation. [Except as far as he's concerned, he does this soapboxing a lot since coming here so. This is really not out of the ordinary. Sort of.] Why should we have to hide what we're capable of for the comfort and convenience of others? Why should we be denied full use of our abilities here, by wardens or by the Admiral when he strands us in port?

We shouldn't have to be afraid of what we're capable of just because it makes other people uncomfortable, and none of us should be denied what's rightfully ours just because we're not human. [Which is coming out a little bit like a curse word. :V]

Frankly, it makes me uncomfortable to know I'm stuck here with a bunch of humans who will never be able to understand what it's like to be one of us, and instead of bothering to try, have just decided we're all a threat to their safety. All that proves to me is that you're all the same, and you wouldn't hesitate to wipe us out, and I, for one, am not willing to give you that chance.

Merlin, Morgana, you should stand up for yourselves. All of you should be willing to fight for what's rightfully ours, instead of blindly following along and hoping these Homo sapiens will realize the error of their ways.

[ooc: Charles is totally affected, and since his most defining trait is the whole KILLING WILL NOT BRING YOU PEACE thing he is now PEACE WAS NEVER AN OPTION. Meaning he is basically Erik this weekend and I'm not sure why he's a warden still >>; and will be apologizing like crazy when all this is over. :C]

[The Doctor is, as is usual, deeply unimpressed by Charles' attitude.] You're quite certain it's your powers and not your attitude that humanity fears? Threatening people does tend to rile them, I've found.

Yes, the 'he started it' defence. I recall using that gem on Braxiatel when I was a Time Tot. Can't say it was one of my more shining moments. Didn't even work

[The Doctor's tone changes from being mocking into a tone that's deeply sad and has had conversations like this many times before and resigned to having another one.] Charles, you cannot allow small-minded individuals, indeed small-minded groups, to dictate your actions. Playing into their preconceptions hardly does you or any who might follow you any favours at all. You can stand up for your rights without becoming that threat they so fear.
rass_bestie: (I love a lecture - just not at me)

[The Doctor lets out a sigh.] Your little speech rather deserved one in return, I thought.
rass_bestie: (unmovable)

No, it was directed at the Admiral and humanity. And while the Admiral is certainly a man who could do with a stern lecture or two, I'm rather fond of humanity which, you seem to have forgotten, includes you in its number.

And I'm a being forged out of antimatter, yet I remain Gallifreyan and a Time Lord. A mere mutation does not change that you were forged by the same society as the rest of your race.

Hardly. And I have plenty of time.

Well, some praise out of you, imagine.

Oh, I agree, I'm simply surprised that you've elected to do so.
