[Charles sounds tired - and anyone who was in the infirmary right after port ended might have noticed him hovering while people tried to help Zane - but otherwise, actually pretty okay.]

I know we're all exhausted and in need of some relaxation, but if everyone wouldn't mind letting me know you got out alright, I'd appreciate it. And if there's anything I can do for any of you, don't hesitate to let me know.

[Getting his telepathy back felt like he'd been unblindfolded, and while he had noticed the change immediately, in the first minutes back on the Barge, he hadn't had time to appreciate it. The focus was instead on saving Zane's life, and it wasn't until he was stable and unconscious that Charles had the time to reach out with his gift and reassure himself that they were back, they had made it out, and so had the people he cared about.

He'd checked on the kids first, reassured himself that they were in one piece and mostly in need of rest before anything else, and reassured them that he just needed much of the same before looking for Erik.

It's not difficult. His mind had almost instinctively wrapped itself around the familiar presence as soon as it had been established that Zane would be alright, and so Charles catches up to his friend as Erik's coming down from the deck, a relieved smile immediately stretching across his face as he gets his first good look at him.]

This might be the ultimate instance of the pot calling the kettle black, [Because he knows he's got some cuts on his face and other minor injuries from their time in port, too.] but you look like you're about to fall over.

Also, feel free to spam him if you want! He'll probably be pretty unconscious for the first day and a half afterward, but will be up and around after that.]

[She's the first thing he notices after it's been established that Zane's going to be alright, and although he's exhausted and desperately in need of a shower and a change of clothes (he's really ready to get out of the flight suit), he hurries over to check on her.

It's a relief when she opens her eyes, and he manages a relieved smile.]

Hey. [He wants to pull her into a hug, because he's so, so relieved she's here and alive, but he doesn't know what happened or how badly she's hurt, so he smooths a hand over her hair for a moment instead, trying not to project his worry any more than he already has.]

[Jean closes her eyes again, for a few moments, just enjoying the touch. She didn't know if she'd ever feel that again.]

I was with Jason. The city wanted him, but... [And now she smiles again, deep and proud.] He came through.

I'm glad to hear that, [And he is, if that worried/fond/proud smile is anything to go by. He keeps stroking her hair, trying to ignore the way his hand was shaking.]

But to be honest, I was more concerned about you, not to mention what you're doing in here.

[Her smile turns a bit rueful at that.]

There were monsters. And...I had to help him, a little. [She raises a hand and gingerly taps her temple.]

[Charles looks genuinely surprised to hear that.] You could use your abilities?

[It's a different sort of pride, now, that lights her eyes.]

Yeah. It was hard, but...it worked. [It calmed Jason enough that he could find himself again.] I just gave him a light to follow, really.

None of the rest of us could access our abilities at all while we were down thee. [And again, he sounds befuddled and confused to hear that, because what would he have given, to be able to use his telepathy instead of feeling deaf and blind.

It had been good to know that he could take care of himself even if he didn't have his powers, but he still wished he'd had it.]

You're sure you're alright?

I couldn't either, most of the time, but - I think maybe it was trying to use them against us. [It would have been so easy, to fall with him instead of pulling him up. So easy to succumb to the agony and despair that tried to flood her mind.]

I think...I shouldn't try it again, for a while. [Her head hasn't stopped aching since; it feels like a cramped muscle. That hadn't helped, either.]

[He smooths a hand over her hair again before letting it drop to her shoulder, squeezing reassuringly.]

Rest. Can I get you anything?

[Jean almost shakes her head, but thinks better of it.]

I'm okay. Or, I mean, I will be.

[She bites her lip, worry flaring in her eyes.] Have you seen Erik, or Alex? Anya? Pietro?

No. I was planning on checking on them Erik's- [And it feels unbelievably good to be able to reach out and curl his mind gently around his friend's familiar consciousness.] Fine. So is Alex. I'll have to check on Anya and Pietro in person, or over the network.
